“Europe Books”, new investments and high-impact initiatives in United Kingdom

The international publishing house Europe Books has decided to further strengthen its investment in the United Kingdom due to the significant results achieved by its English language works.

Group director Serena Marini announced, ‘Our publishing group was founded in Rome in 2002, from the successful experience of a small literary magazine. Thanks to the significant growth achieved in Italy, which has led us to become one of the most reliable companies in the sector, in 2018 we decided to export our know-how abroad, and we identified Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom as the ideal launching pads. Our choice has proved to be a winning one, so much so that these experiences have not only allowed us to establish new offices (France, Portugal, Russia,) but they also give us the possibility to make further important investments in countries where we are already present, above all the United Kingdom.’

The impact of Europe Books in the UK has been truly fortunate, to such an extent that today the London-based publisher can be considered a reference point for English-language works, both for famous and emerging authors. In the coming months, In the American Grain, an anthology of some of the most significant voices in contemporary American poetry, will be published in the UK and in the USA. Pulitzer Prize winners Rae Armantrout, Peter Balakian, Rita Dove, Forrest Gander, Vijay Seshadri are just 5 of the 25 authors in the collection, which shows how poetry is still a powerful literary genre. The Duke’s Portrait, the new historical thriller by Ken Wilson, an author with over five million copies sold worldwide, will also be published in a few months. The work, set in England in the first half of the 20th century, is destined to captivate readers in the UK.

But there is more. ‘A large part of the investments we have planned for the next twelve months will be used to further intensify the promotional drive for the works we publish, which has so far been the real strength of our publishing model. Especially when it comes to emerging authors, we must not forget that it is necessary to implement high-impact distribution and promotional strategies, both nationally and internationally. This is why our titles are distributed in several countries and participate in major book fairs, including London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Turin and New York,’ concluded Serena Marini.

New investments will include high-impact initiatives aimed at gaining an even wider readership. As already tested successfully in other countries, for example, a massive television campaign will be launched in the next few months on the UK’s major broadcasters, to introduce millions of viewers to our catalogue and the emerging authors we are launching in bookshops across Europe.
